Semester grades are computed by teachers, using the grades earned in each of the two marking periods plus the student’s grade on the semester exam. Only the final semester grade becomes a part of a student’s permanent school record (transcript). Students completing courses designated as Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and International Baccalaureate (IB) receive additional weight on their grade point averages.
