Welcome to the East Grand Forks Public Schools Coronavirus News Update Center, a dedicated space on our district website designed to keep parents, staff and the entire community informed about effect of the Coronavirus to our school district.

School year 2020-21 began with the secondary (6-12) students in the hybrid learning model and the PreK-5 grade students in the in-person model. For more details on these models, click on the school's Re-Entry Plan 2020-21.

On November 23rd the EGF Board of Education approved the transition to distance learning for all students through December 11th. At a special board meeting on December 8th the school board voted to extend the distance learning period for PreK-12th graders through the holiday break with the intention of returning January 4th in Model 2, which is in-person instruction for grades PreK-5 and Hybrid for grades 6-12.

At the January 25, 2001 school board meeting a rolling schedule for transitioning all students to in-person learning was proposed and accepted. The transition schedule went as follows: 9th graders on 2.8.21; 6th, 7th & 8th grades on 2.16.21 and 10th, 11th and 12th graders on 2.22.21.

ISD #595 has been following the localized, data-driven approach to determining the best learning model at any given time keeping the safety of the students and staff of ISD #595 as its main priority. We will be following the Guidance for Minnesota Public Schools to determine which model of learning will be used.

At the August 24, 2020 Regular School Board Meeting a face covering policy was adopted. You can view that policy on the policy page or at the following link Face Covering Policy 808.
