Air Pollution and how it affects you
Air Pollution has been steadily increasing for the last century. Of course, we breathe air 24/7. So why aren’t we doing more about it? Especially when it is known to increase the risk of Asthma, Lung Cancer and other respiratory diseases.
What other organs are in trouble?
Not only does our air affect our lungs, but the chemicals we breathe diffuse into the blood where they can travel to target other organs. Heart Disease is the #1 cause of death in the U.S., and air pollution is only increasing its prevalence. Furthermore, there are links to Nerve and Brain Damage. If that is not bad enough, think of children younger than us. Air pollution may cause more Birth Defects and decrease Fertility. Something we can all agree is not good.
What can you do?
Forest Fires contribute to air pollution. If you’re turning 18, vote for politicians who support environmental activism. If not, donate to organization focusing on air pollution and the environment.
