Theme: “Building Our Future Together”
Good morning everyone—dear parents, teachers, and our wonderful little learners! What a joyful and colorful day this is as we celebrate United Nations Day! Today, our classrooms are full of flags, costumes, and smiling faces representing the many nations of the world. Isn’t it amazing to see how different we all are, and yet how happy we can be together?
Introduction
Our theme for today is “Building Our Future Together.” That means that no matter where we come from, what color our skin is, or what language we speak, we are called to work hand in hand to make our world a better, kinder, and safer place for everyone—especially for you, our children. When we say “together,” it reminds us that we are part of one big family—God’s family. Just like the pieces of a puzzle, each one of us is unique and important. When we all fit together, we make something beautiful and complete.
Let me tell you a short story.
Once upon a time, there was a little red brick in a big construction site. The brick was small, but it was proud. One day it said, “I don’t need anyone! I can build a wall all by myself!” So the little red brick rolled away from the other bricks and tried to build a wall alone. It stacked itself on top of a rock—but oops!—it fell down again and again. The brick was sad.
Then the cement said, “You need me to help you stick together.”
The other bricks said, “We need you too! Together we can make something strong!”
So, they all worked together—with the help of the builder—and soon they built a beautiful wall that became part of a strong, safe home where children could laugh and play. The little red brick learned an important lesson: “I can do great things when I work together with others!”
That story reminds me of a beautiful story in the Bible from the Book of Nehemiah (Nehemiah 2–6).
A long time ago, the walls of Jerusalem were broken down. The people were sad and afraid. But Nehemiah, a man who loved God and his people, said,
“Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem together.”
And do you know what happened? Everyone helped! The young and old, the rich and poor, families and friends—each one worked on a small part of the wall. In just 52 days, they finished rebuilding the wall because they worked as one. They didn’t give up. They didn’t fight. They trusted God and helped each other.
That’s what it means to build our future together—helping one another, working hand in hand, and trusting God to lead us.
Dear parents and teachers, our children are watching us. Every word we say and every action we do builds part of their world.
When they see us helping others, they learn compassion.
When they see us working together, they learn unity.
When they see us praying and trusting God, they learn faith.
And to our dear children—always remember: You are small today, but you are the builders of tomorrow. You build your future every time you share, help, love, and obey. When you smile at a classmate, when you share your crayons, when you say “thank you” or “sorry,”—you are already building a beautiful future!
Let us remember what the Bible says in Psalm 127:1, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” That means our efforts become meaningful and lasting only when we do them with God’s help and love in our hearts. So today, as we celebrate the nations of the world, let’s celebrate something greater—the love that unites us.
Let’s teach our children to build bridges, not walls.
Let’s build peace, not pride.
Let’s build kindness, not competition.
Because when we love one another and work together, we build not only a better world—but a future filled with hope, just as God wants us to have.
Conclusion
Together with God’s love, we can build a brighter, stronger, and more peaceful future—hand in hand, heart to heart.
