Assistive Technology

Persons with disability often need assistive devices to particpate in a number are activities such as

• education

• communication

• mobility

• leisure and daily living

We address these needs by focusing on the functional disabilities (as classified by the WHO-ICF) and build devices that allow them to participate meaninfully and independently in their activites. The work is undertaken under the Centre for Rehabiliation Engineering and Technolgy, in partnership with Enability Foundation for Rehabilitation. Our solutions  include

• software - KAVI-PTS, KAVI+

• embedded systems - access switches, KAVI-T, iGest, Tactograph

• mobility - wheelchair accessible electric vehicle (Yali Mobility)
