Our E&E Expeditions team of guides is truly outstanding. We select each guide through an extensive interview and referral process, and all of our guides receive ongoing training and professional development which allows them to execute our unique teaching approach effectively in the field. In each of our destinations, we use local bilingual guides to offer our clients the most authentic connections possible to the country.
Across the board, our guides are absolutely passionate about sharing their country. Through our carefully designed training, we teach them to be educators, not just fact-givers. Our guides are committed to E&E Expeditions because of the high educational standards we uphold, along with the continual professional development training we provide for them to ensure that our Story Approach and Expedition Mentality are practiced with expertise. Their devotion and passion for their home, their country, and their job is tangible, and often leaves a feeling of inspiration long after the trip is over.
Safety is paramount on every E&E Expedition. All of our local guides and activities are thoroughly vetted for both our high safety standards and educational value before hosting a group. In addition, we include travel medical insurance for all of our clients traveling with us abroad, which will cover most medical costs in case of emergency.
We are dedicated to creating a culture of safety in all aspects of our trip: the safety of students and teachers, as well as our staff and employees, is paramount.

High standards of quality and safety that we use in choosing providers for lodging, activities and transportation. Whenever possible, our providers have operating certifications and additional insurance to protect clients in case of accidents or emergencies.
All our groups are accompanied by two E&E Expeditions guides, who are certified in First Aid and CPR. This is a key component to our safety strategy, as there must be one trained guide to stay with an injured person if another guide needs to go for help. Our guides are prepared to assess a patient, provide first aid, CPR and care for patients in remote settings. We provide this training to our guides every year, certified by the American Red Cross.

Emergency Plan and Emergency Action Plan protocols are designed to minimize risk associated with activities during trips and ensure an efficient response and decision-making by E&E Expedition staff and guides.
24 Hour On Call E&E Expeditions team in each destination country and in the US to provide support to clients, guides, and providers and ensure any issues are dealt with efficiently.
Each E&E Expeditions guide has a database of local clinics and hospitals nearest the towns they will be visiting. They also have a first aid kit to address minor medical issues, which is carried with them on every activity and hike.
Our guides create written patient reports (SOAP Notes, medical records) for even minor situations (cuts, headaches, etc).
