At E&E we create powerful educational experiences for students of all ages and backgrounds. We work with the finest guides and an extensive network of local visionaries, who share with us their innovative practices and inspiring stories. Our collaborators include organic farmers, artisans, world‐renowned biologists, explorers, community organizers, teachers, and families.

The distinguishing features of each Expeditions are our unique educational and travel philosophies: the Story Approach and Expedition Mentality. Each enhances your learning as you travel, and in turn, the educational impact that endures thereafter. Because there is so much to see and take in on all of our trips, it would be easy to overwhelm students with a vast array of information. Instead, we work hard to provide context and meaning through our Story Approach, a process that continually connects the diverse elements of your customized itinerary. We maintain our focus on the totality of your experience and the coherence of all the elements of your adventure.

The core of Expedition Mentality is the purposeful creation of a particular “group culture” for the duration of the trip. We excel at this nuanced process, which recognizes that even on the most meticulously planned trip, even amongst the best of friends, classes, and groups, unexpected things happen‐ you are on expedition, after all! We have worked with a remarkable diversity of groups to make the most of the experience‐ to “turn lemons into lemonade,” regardless of what happens in terms of weather or any other unexpected turn of events on that particular journey. Executing the Story Approach and Expedition Mentality demands experienced, well‐trained guides, and a strong educational collaboration with teachers and schools. This is what we have and this is what we do...and ultimately this is what sets us apart!

As teachers, we understand that leading a group successfully requires a delicate balance of fun, challenge, timing, reflection, and hands‐on experiences. We are experts at maximizing both the individual and the whole group dynamic, much as you do each day in the classroom. We do this by working with you to mentor, lead, listen, inspire, and “read” your group to create a fun and enduring learning adventure.
