We've had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day! We have shared stories around the school; created a whole school book; taken part in quizzes; designed book tokens; read with year 5 and taken part in parades! It's been a busy day!
We have been looking towards nature to inspire our art this half term. We went outside to sketch interesting things we can find and make artistic formations from natural objects.
We have been focusing on measuring length in maths, focusing on using rulers. We went out to the playground to measure different objects.
As part of our microhabitat unit, we went on a minibeast hunt!
Year 2 enjoyed a fun and exciting Science Day on Monday! The children went aroud the 4 KS1 classrooms and took part in 4 different investigations and experiments. Here are some pictures of the day:
Year 2 have continued their maths unit of measuring, now focusing of measuring mass. Children got to experiment and investigate different scales.
We loved visiting Call of the Wild! Whilst there we listened to a talk about animal habitats and watched a talk about birds too! We were exhausted by the end of the day!
In art, we've looked carefully at animal coverings and recreated them as art work.
We have been learning to sing 'The Friendship Song' in music this half term!
During our last week, we loved taking part in the Egg hunt arranged by our lovely Parents Association. We loved finding out who had stolekn all the eggs!
We also visited Rayleigh Library. We enjoyed creating a story in the 'stopry making' activity. We didn't realise how many exciting things the library do! It's worth looking at their website for activities at the weekends and holidays that are usually free!
