Description: This course is an opportunity for students who are passionate about fitness and sports to gain valuable skills and industry knowledge. Students will develop knowledge of the sports industry and relevant workplace industry skills, learn about the preparation of resources and equipment required to run sport and recreation sessions, how to conduct these sessions, coach participants, provide first aid and how to deal with clients. Students will also focus on sports coaching, group facilitation and sports programming. Students will also develop knowledge of managing risk and safety in sport, and learn how to design, develop and implement a user group education program in a sport and recreation-related area.

Description: This is a pre-vocational electrical program is designed to provide an introduction to the electrical/electronics industries in areas such as air-conditioning, electrical, refrigeration, or instrumentation. It enables students to develop broad based competencies in a range of electrotechnology fields such as lighting, general power, fire protection and security, robotics, instrumentation, optical data and voice systems, electrical motors and control systems.

Entry Requirements:  

• Chisholm: Year 10 English and Maths is preferred. Enrolment is subject to results of the Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) test. 

• Holmesglen: This course is only offered to VCE or VCE VM enrolled students. Students must also be 16 years of age at the time of enrolment and must have a strong mathematical knowledge and understanding. 

• Students may be required to complete the Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) test to determine their Literacy and Numeracy capabilities.

Engineering Studies 

Description: This course is designed to introduce students to the theories and practices necessary to enhance their future studies and employment prospects in the engineering or engineering related industries. It introduces students to mechanical and thermal cutting, marking out, welding principles, fabrication, forming and shaping techniques, general machining, computing and computer-aided drafting, and workplace safety. 

Duration: 2 years

Description: In this course students will learn how to build retaining walls, lay paving, maintain gardens, test soils, drive a tractor, use a ride-on mower and identify pests and diseases in plants. This course allows you to work outdoors in a variety of roles.
