Miss Libby Tobin is the MHWL at Woodend Primary School. She has a passion for mental health and wellbeing, and is excited to implement new projects, as well as build on current practices.
Mental health and wellbeing is a priority at Woodend PS. We implement a fantastic Social and Emotional curriculum, run Play Clubs, champion Morning Circles and more, but most importantly, we put the students first.
The Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum at WPS is a purposeful joining of a range of programs, designed to support, challenge and inspire our students.
Activities will assist students to:
• identify and describe personal coping skills and explain how these contribute to family and school life
• discuss how they can use self-calming strategies to manage themselves in stressful situations.
Activities will assist students to:
• practise solving simple interpersonal problems
• identify ways to care for others, including ways of making and keeping friends
• discuss the importance of seeking help when dealing with problems that are too big to solve alone
• practise seeking help from adults and peers..
