I have not received my email with the unique School Savings Bonus code.
If you cannot locate the email, check your spam or junk folder. If you have not received your School Saving Bonus code via email by Friday 29 November, please contact the Department of Education by emailing school.saving.bonus@education.vic.gov.au.
Can I use the School Savings Bonus on school fees?
No. The School Savings Bonus can be used for school uniforms, items from the booklist, incursions, excursions, swimming and sporting programs, camps and other things like Year 12 graduation night.
Can I use the School Savings Bonus on the Bushwacked or Outdoor Education camps?
Yes. You can allocate some or all of your School Savings Bonus to ‘School Activities’ on the School Savings Bonus portal and then let the school know what camps you want it applied to.
Can I use the School Savings Bonus on an Edrolo subscription?
No. Although Edrolo now has capacity to this, BSC did not receive this information until 4 December. We will investigate adding this as an option and inform the school community if it does become an option in the future. However, we do not know how long this process will take.
How does the school know what to do with my ‘School Activity’ allocation of funds?
We don’t! Please email the school on accounts@brunswick.vic.edu.au or brunswick.sc@education.vic.gov.au and tell us:
Your child’s name
The amount of School Savings Bonus funds you have allocated
What school activity you want the School Savings Bonus applied to
For example: For my child Jin Jones in Year 9, I have allocated $400 of the School Savings Bonus for the Bushwacked camp
What happens to unspent funds?
After 30 June 2025 any unspent funds are automatically transferred from the online system to the family account at the school for families to use towards school activities. If your child graduates with unspent funds, the funds are transferred to any siblings. When your last child leaves the school, any remaining funds are available for the school to use for other students for educational costs.
Can I give my School Savings Bonus to the school?
Yes. Families who do not want to use the School Saving Bonus provided for their child/children can elect to provide this money to the school for use for other students. Schools can allocate funds to be used to assist other students at the school within the scope of the School Saving Bonus (that is, school-incurred costs for camps, sports and excursions). Please contact the school in writing about this.
