Brainstorm in your books some ways that Australia deals with crime and then some ways other countries respond to crime. Think about any examples you may already know about. Are those countries more forgiving? Strict?
Australia's political and legal systems are often compared to those of UK and the US because Australia took inspiration from then when we became a country.
Throughout this class I will be showing you how different countries approach and respond to crime.
After each video we will discuss how the country approaches crime and then talk about why the country would take that approach. You will then need to summarise the approach in your books and evaluate its effectiveness and the pro's and cons to each approach.
