School-Wide Positive Behaviour Model (SWPBM) and Positive Reinforcement
The School-Wide Positive Behaviour Model and the use of positive reinforcement are integral components of Wellbeing at Mulgrave Primary School. This proactive approach focuses on promoting and embedding shared expectations for behaviour, fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all students. Through the consistent application of positive reinforcement, behaviours that reflect the school’s values and rules are celebrated, helping students to develop self-regulation, empathy and a sense of accountability.
Aligning with social and emotional learning principles, the model is designed to support students in building resilience and strong interpersonal skills. By integrating this approach into the Wellbeing Framework, it creates a cohesive and supportive system that not only addresses behaviour but also enhances overall student wellbeing, ensuring every child feels recognised and empowered to contribute positively to the school community.
