Learning Intention

We are learning to retell and summarise a text.

Success Criteria

  • I can identify the main character.

  • I can discuss the problem in the text.

  • I can discuss how the main character tried to solve the problem.

  • I can identify how the story ended.


Read for 20 minutes and record this in your reading log (blue book). This can be your take home reader, a library book, a book from Sunshine Online or book from your own collection at home.


Learning Tasks:

  1. Listen to Ms Clark read, or finish reading 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff' yourself.

  2. Watch Ms Clark complete today's learning task.

  3. Summarise the remainder of the story - the Three Billy Goats Gruff using the activity sheet, identifying the characters, the setting and what happened in the text.

This week you are going to gather information on a toy of your choice for a report.

Activity:

2. Choose a toy and write 10 facts about the toy. Miss Brogden has an example below.

Facts can be about its colour, materials, uses, movement, etc.

Take a photo of the facts and upload it to the Writing Dojo portfolio task.
