Learning Intention
We are learning to retell and summarise a text.
Success Criteria
I can identify the main character.
I can discuss the problem in the text.

Learning Tasks:
Read your independent fiction text for 15 minutes, think about how you would summarise your text.
Summarise your text with a peer.
In small groups of 4 or 5 work together to plan and decide how you are going to retell the story of the three Billy Goats Gruff.
Writing
Learning Intention:
We are learning to gather information for a report.
Success Criteria:
I can write facts about a toy.
Activity:
In groups of 4-5, students will write facts about either a scooter, a spinning top, a rocking horse or a football. Facts they will answer are;
What does your toy look like?
What material is it made out of?
How does it move?
What is the toy's purpose?
Who would play with this toy?

To compare and describe the mass of objects.
Success Criteria
I can use balance scales to compare the mass of objects.
I can describe mass.
I can reason about mass.

Learning Task: Measuring Mass
Today in class, students will explore Mass using Pan Balances. They will compare items from around the classroom such as books, blocks, pencils, etc. What do we notice?
Students will then try and find two items that have the same Mass. Students will explore how they know they are the same.
Spelling
Learning intention: We are learning to identify how to spell words with the 'oo' or 'ew' sound as is 'boot' and 'knew'.
Success Criteria:
I can spell words with the 'oo' or 'ew' sound
