Welcome to the MPS Home Learning site

Message from Mr Spicer

Dear parents and carers,

Thank you for your patience this week as we have prepared for remote learning once again.

From next Monday, we will resume teaching online for all students, be they at home or supervised on site. The minimum expectation is 3 activities per day, but we recognise that sometimes these activities will need to be completed at different times of the day. With that in mind, we would ask parents to prioritise the following:

1. Reading: 7 days a week for at least 30 minutes, but preferably 67 minutes or more. This is the magic number that guarantees success in all aspects of school, as reading underpins everything.

2. The morning video and check-in: Please acknowledge the video as soon as you can each day. It will outline the day's work and also acts as your child/ren's attendance for the day.

3. The Remote learning website: (You're already here!)

Your one stop shop for all activities, lesson plans, videos and more. This is the key platform as we begin Term 3.

4. Weekly Reading Conferences: Each week, teachers will assign a date and time for a reading conference to check in with your child/ren and assess their reading progress.

5. Zoom Q & A Sessions: At 1pm each day, all classroom teachers will be live, answering any questions, providing feedback on work already completed and checking in with their students.

6. Dojo Interactivity: Dojo has been enhanced so that students can interact with their teachers as soon as they upload a new task. Of course, it is possible that the teacher may be working with another student and won't be able to answer all tasks immediately, but they will provide feedback each day through at least one task.

7. Specialist Activities: I encourage students to complete specialist units and remind everyone that time has been set aside on Wellbeing Wednesday to catch up if need be.

In addition, specialists will also run one Q&A session a fortnight for P-2 and 3-6. Stay tuned for times.

The website will go live before 8:50am Monday and will be updated each week.

Good luck to all families, we are available if you need us.
