Read through the ‘Design Elements and Design Principles’ PowerPoint to familiarise yourself with all of the elements and principles. (you may need to open it in a new tab to read it closely)
As you go, demonstrate your understanding by completing a small diagram/ illustration that demonstrates each of the elements and principles.
Stick these resource sheets in your sketchbook.
You will be given a blank white accordion booklet. On each page of this booklet, you are to demonstrate one design element or principle.
We will be running class workshops on different techniques and materials throughout the next two weeks. You can use the media, method and material of your choice for each of these illustrations... be creative!! But remember... The book still needs to be able to close at the end.
Aim to produce high quality depictions of each element and principle. You may choose to have a theme running through your imagery (which is recommended), or it may be a completely different and unrelated illustration for each page.
While you do not need to ‘label’ which element or principle the page is depicting, it should be demonstrated very clearly.
