Threads, Textures and Fabrics

Learn about the fundamentals of Textiles; understanding fabrics, how to machine and hand sew, sculpt with fleece, knit and weave. Have you always wanted to design and print your own fabrics? You will explore digital drawing and photography to explore innovative techniques, such as fabric printing or transfers in order to construct a unique bag. Within the semester, students will explore different themes, come up with original artwork ideas, find inspiration from around them, create artworks and evaluate the creative process.  Artworks can range from bag design and construction, decorative hand/machine stitched ornaments, t-shirt prints, felting and clothing construction.
