Focus:
Topics and themes include French songs and films, talking about the past, birthdays and celebrations, holidays, future plans, occupations, places in France and describing imaginary situations. Students undertake written work, speaking and listening activities, reading, cultural enrichment, vocabulary acquisition and project work, as well as participating in excursions and incursions.
Assessment Tasks:
Writing film reviews, letters, magazine articles, short stories and/or advertisements; songs; films; listening exercises; role plays; formal and informal presentations to the class; prepared and impromptu readings; and end-of-semester exams.
Note: Students need to undertake both semesters of a Languages subject.

Film and Restaurant Excursion (usually $20-$50)
French Exchange: students who intend to continue learning French will be offered the opportunity to go on our exchange trip to France in Year 10 or 11, which runs every second year.
