VCE/VET Music (Sound Production) Pathway
There are multiple pathways through which students can study music at CSC. Students may elect to do more than one music subject. All music subjects offered are VCE subjects and all contribute to your ATAR.
The two pathways we offer are the VCE Music Pathway and the VCE VET Music (Sound Production) Pathway
The VCE Music Pathway includes the study of Units 1 & 2 Music in year 11 and one or more of the following subjects in year 12:
Music Inquiry (Units 3 &4)
Music Repertoire Performance (Units 3 &4)
Music Contemporary Performance (Units 3 &4)
Students who undertake the VCE Music Pathway are able to do Music Inquiry and one of the music performance subjects. Doing two music performance subjects in the same year is generally not allowed due to pressures on workload, but this may be allowed in exceptional circumstances.
The VCE VET Music (Sound Production) Pathway includes the study of:
Units 1 & 2 VCE VET Music (Sound Production), and
Units 3 & 4 VCE VET Music (Sound Production)
Over the course of two years, students studying Music Industry will achieve a nationally recognised (CUA 30920) Certificate III in Music (Sound Production) from the College of Sound and Music Production (COSAMP - RTO 41549) as well as 4 VCE units which can contribute to your ATAR & VCE Certificate.
Students who wish to study units 3 & 4 of any music subject without having achievd unit 1 & 2 will be individually assessed prior to admission. The same process will exist for students wishing to do an accelerated Units 1 & 2 course in year 10.
