The heading above is linked to the VCAA VCE Chemistry webpage. The links below are to the current study design and exam support. The Data Book and practice exam are based on the current study design. The past exam papers and examiner's reports are based on previous study designs. The content of the past exams will vary from the current study design.
Examination Support (including exam specifications, practice exam and past exams with examiner's feedback)
Practice exam model answers (produced by the Chemistry Education Association, not VCAA)
Past exams and examiner's reports (based on previous study design)
Questions from past examination that are not relevant to current Study Design (compiled by the Chemistry Education Association, not VCAA)
Advice for teachers - Chemistry (It says "Advice for teachers", but there is a lot of good information for students here also, in particular the two sections I have linked below)
Chapters 1-2 (if you don't have the textbook yet)
Once you have your text, create an on-line account with JacarandaPLUS to take full advantage of the support offered.
chemguide (UK)
Doc Brown's Science revision website - This site is written for a UK high school audience but is used around the world. There is a lot of "stuff" which can make it difficult to navigate, but it is very good "stuff". Sections targeted at A-level chemistry students in the UK are most applicable to the VCE chemistry curriculum.
Chemsketch - ACD/ChemSketch Freeware is a drawing package that allows you to draw chemical structures. It also includes features such as calculation of molecular properties (e.g., molecular weight, density etc.), 2D and 3D structure cleaning and viewing and functionality for naming structures.
Chemical Detectives - A great app for practising your analysis of organic compounds based on NMR, IR and mass spec data.
