This is our general technical support page for staff & students.
This may help you troubleshoot or assist students in class.
When signing-in to Compass, use the Orange button first, then enter your eduPass credentials.
Students also need to use the Orange button.
We use the Papercut "Follow-Me" method when printing.
There are two print queues available, one for each campus.
When printing:
select a queue relevant to your location.
approach your nearest photocopier.
enter your T.O / eduPass ID and release printing accordingly.
The devices come in baskets of 5 and we please ask that you limit yourself to 1 basket at a time.
These laptops are NOT to replace the idea of our BYOD requirements and instead are to be used to accommodate:
Student devices lacking functions required by curriculum delivery (i.e chromebooks, android).
Student devices being unavailable (repair, forgotten at home).
The devices aren’t to be carried around the school by students.
Students use their @schools accounts to access the devices and ensure students sign-out after use.
Any damage or concerns about devices are to be logged via the Helpdesk.
CRTs are not allowed to book or use these devices.
Use the Compass Resource Bookings page to reserve baskets accordingly.
You can find this via the Organisation menu option.
Add a comment as to why you’re borrowing these devices.
Staff are to collect devices from the Library just prior to your session and return them directly after to ensure a smooth transition for the next booking.
On return, plug devices in and lock the trolley.
Students are asked to bring in their own device from home. We don't recommend Chromebooks or Android devices as they will experience compatibility issues.
For students that cannot bring a device to do affordability etc, a loan device may be available. Please speak to a member of sub-school regarding this.
Teachers may book devices as per above.
Student accounts take 1-2 days upon enrolment to generate.
Once they’re ready, the Student Passwords – Master spreadsheet will be updated.
Please log a helpdesk ticket to trigger a follow up if required.
