In July 2021, the Victorian Government announced new Child Safe Standards.
Child Safe Standard 8 requires schools to build child safety knowledge, skills and awareness in staff, volunteers and school governing authorities.
This module is tailored for individuals who volunteer at our school through classroom support and/or assist us on more limited occasions in activities such as excursions, camps or swimming. The module also extends to broader support of school events, such as school fetes or productions.
The purpose is to ensure that you are equipped with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep children and young people safe at our school.
Why child safety is so important in our school
The role and obligations of volunteers to keep children safe in our school
How we identify and respond to child safety concerns
Our school’s key child safety policies and procedures, highlighting what you must be aware of and follow to keep children safe.
The module will take approximately 30 minutes to finish, and contains several quizzes which you must complete in order to be eligible to volunteer at Bell Primary School.
You'll be required to enter your email address for these quizzes and a record of your completion will be kept by the school, along with your Working With Children check and acknowledgement of OHS requirements.
If you have trouble completing these modules or have any questions, please email bell.ps@education.vic.gov.au
