Indoor hockey
Players: 5 players will be on the field at half time players will swap over depending on how many people are in the team.
Time : Each game is 40-60min alone for a match
Indoor hockey is a team game and each team consists of five players, which makes up to 6 players on court, totaling up to 12 players on the court. There are substitutes and the number of that is 6 players
Rules of indoor hockey
The ball/puck must be on the ground except after a shot.
A hit/shot in indoor hockey is known as a “push”
Sideboards are allowed to the game which makes for good angled passes or shots.
Unlike outdoor hockey, indoor hockey provides a smaller court which makes for a faster, tighter game.
Things like flicks and scoops are allowed
A Scoop is when the player lifts the ball gently off the ground for short passes
A Flick is when the player lifts the ball off the ground but with a more quicker wrist motion
Backswings are not allowed
Scoring a goal
A goal can be scored by shooting inside the goal circle
The ball must be played or deflected inside the circle
A Play is when a player is actively controlling the ball before a goal is scored
A Deflect is when a player changes the ball’s direction even if the shot came from the outside of the goal circle
Once a goal is scored, the ball/puck is taken back to the middle and the opposite team takes it.
Penalties
Penalty stroke - This is given when a player is doing on fouls on purpose for blocking goals
Penalty corner - This is given when there are serious fouls happening inside the goal circle
A free push (hit/shot) - This is given when there are minor fouls happening in the game
Cards:
🟢Green- This means a warning
🟡Yellow- This means a temporary suspension (only lasts for about 2 minutes)
🔴Red - This means a permanent expulsion (The player leaves the court and is suspended for the next 10 minutes)
Rules allowed for Goalkeepers:
Goalkeepers are active and play more like sweepers rather than just shot-stoppers
They can be treated as a field player when they step outside of the goal circle
They can’t go into the attacking half when wearing the full goalkeeper uniform
They can only use their stick to play the ball when they step outside the circle
They can lie down to block the shots (only inside the circle)
They only need to have 2 hands on the hockey stick when passing the puck.

Additional rules
Foot penalty : If the puck touches your foot, it is a free pass to the other team.
If it touches someone's foot and given to the opponent team and they're near the goal you Can Not take a shot, however if it hits above your foot, it doesn't count as a penalty unless its below your knee.
Swing penalty : If you swing your hockey stick higher than your waist, It is an automatic penalty to the other team.
Blocking a free shot/penalty : If the other team is taking a free shot you cannot block the shot, you must be at least 4 feet away.
Rolling subs : During a game you can have rolling subs for all team players. A rolling sub is someone who subs in halfway through a game.
One handed exception : If you are running down the court, you may have one hand on your hockey stick only if you are running with it, but, if you are running and are about to hit the ball/puck you have to have both hands on your stick.
