2026 Senior School Course Selection Handbook

Welcome to the Senior School at Wellington Secondary College.

The last two years of secondary school education are pivotal for our young people as they choose subjects that reflect their passions and strengths. These subjects in many instances are prerequisites for further studies at tertiary level or apprenticeship pathways.

At Wellington we offer the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) including the VCE Vocational Major (VM) and Vocational Education and Training (VET). Our broad range of subject choices supports the diverse range of student interests.

This course selection handbook is an essential resource for students and their families when making decisions about subject selection. Course counselling interviews will be offered to students and their families. Additionally, students will be guided through the course and subject selection process through a senior school information assembly and activities during a curriculum expo.

At Wellington we take great pride in the success of our students. We work with students to help them achieve their goals and aspirations in life by teaching them to be life-long learners and globally connected individuals. At the conclusion of their senior studies, students depart Wellington Secondary College knowing that they had a first rate education; they have the skillset, the mindset and the confidence to meet the challenges that lie ahead.
