Parent Information
Wellington Secondary College is committed to providing students with a technology-rich learning environment. For 2026, families may purchase devices through our approved BYOD partners: Learning with Technologies (for Windows devices) and Compnow (for MacBooks). Both options ensure strong warranty coverage, onsite support, and minimal disruption to learning.
Warranty & Support
Mandatory Warranty (All Devices)
Every BYOD device is purchased with a minimum 3-year education warranty.
All warranty jobs and repairs are logged and managed by the College IT Support Team. Repairs are carried out onsite at Wellington Secondary College, reducing downtime for students.
Windows (Learning with Technologies)
Lenovo Education Warranty (3 Years)
Onsite Repair Services: Parts and labour covered; all repairs completed at school
Accidental Damage Protection: Includes drops, spills, bumps, LCD damage
No Excess for Claims: Families do not pay out-of-pocket fees for covered repairs
Replacement Coverage: Limited to one replacement product per purchase
Battery Warranty: 1-year included by default, extendable to 3 years at additional cost (recommended)

Onsite Repairs: School manages logging and repair process
3-Year Extended Warranty: Covers all hardware faults and warranty repairs

Optional AppleCare+ ($249):
Covers accidental damage such as drops, cracked screens, and liquid spills
Unlimited incidents over 3 years (service excess applies per claim)

Devices Brought From Home
Families may choose to supply their own BYOD instead of purchasing through the school portals. In these instances, the following conditions apply:
The device must be equivalent in performance and specifications to those offered on the school BYOD portals (Learning With Technologies or Compnow).
Devices must run the required operating system and support the required curriculum software.
Devices for learning purposes cannot be:
iPads
Chromebooks
Smartphones
Android devices
*While the College will provide account and network management, warranty and repair support is the responsibility of families if the device was not purchased through a school portal.
