iThrive is a Project Based Learning subject where students experience a transdisciplinary curriculum. This means that one period could encompass some or all subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Geography and History. Students develop skills and knowledge through the application of learning to real-world scenarios and problems.
iThrive develops student skills in the 5Cs of learning: Collaboration, Communication, Character, Creativity and Critical Thinking.
The iThrive program is based on outcomes from the Stage 4 New South Wales' syllabi. We have also drawn from the NSW Learning Progressions for Literacy and Numeracy and the English Textual Concepts. The word THRIVE reflects our commitment to the NSW Department of Education Student Wellbeing Framework, where students are supported to Connect, Succeed and Thrive.
iThrive teachers are an additional academic and pastoral support for students through the transition from primary school to high school.
What does learning look like in iThrive?
