The annual athletics carnival was finally held, after a false start last term due to the weather. The rain threatened to hinder proceedings even further, but thankfully, with it being held at such a fabulous all-weather facility, like Maitland Regional Athletics Centre, we were able to continue, albeit with a slightly water-logged track. It may have been the one time it wasn't an advantage to have the inside lane!
We were greeted by a magnificent rainbow on arrival, which set the tone for a fabulously vibrant and entertaining day. To say our children ran their little hearts out would be an understatement, with several weary bodies complaining of sore muscles the following day at school. But we all went home with a smile and a sense of satisfaction after a fabulous day.
A special congratulations to all our ribbon winners and to Ella on earning the 11-year-old girls' champion for 2025.
Thank you once again to all of the families and supporters who helped transport the children and for cheering all the children on.

Last Tuesday evening, a combined Tomaree Learning Community Awards Ceremony was held in the Multi-Purpose Centre (MPC) at Tomaree High School. Hosted by the student leaders of THS, the night saw a combination of performances, speeches and awards being presented.
Mr Heath Lawless, principal of Shoal Bay PS, presented the annual welcome address, whilst Dillon Power, school counsellor at Tomaree High, shared his experiences of how going to a public school (THS) helped build a strong foundation for his future career as a teacher and now counsellor. He described how the connections he built with staff and community, and the confidence shown in him by some of his teachers, who prompted him to pursue opportunities he may not have identified for himself, helped build him into the person and professional he is today. It was an uplifting and inspiring talk that has no doubt sparked an interest and enthusiasm in many who listened.
Students, staff (teaching and non-teaching), community members and school initiatives were all recognised throughout the evening.
It was marvellous to see and hear some of the wonderful things that are happening in all of our local schools, but in particular, it was rewarding to see some of our hard-working, dedicated and passionate Bobs Farm family being acknowledged.
It was also fantastic to see some of our students involved in a combined schools' performance in the AUSLAN (signing) choir. This was a brave thing to do; stand up on stage in front of hundreds of people to perform! We are super proud of Daisy and Ella for putting themselves forward for this opportunity. We are also proud of Mia, Hayden, Jack, Oliver and ex-student Cooper for being there to support their school friends and the community as well.
