Congratulations to our first assembly award winners for 2026: Cobin, Gracey, Adalyn, George and Mac
Over the past couple of weeks, our classroom has been buzzing with exciting learning and growth! We have been building a strong foundation with numbers 1-10, while some of us have challenged ourselves by adding single, double, and even triple-digit numbers. It’s been amazing to watch our confidence and skills grow each day. We were also very lucky to have Mrs Parker spend the day with us, bringing fresh ideas and support while Mrs Hodgson attended professional learning focused on providing learning support. Mrs Parker will be back this week as Mrs Hodgson and Ms Kris head off for Connecting to Country. How lucky are we? Our skipping skills grow exponentially when Mrs Parker visits! Our intentional play sessions have continued to be a fantastic way for students to connect and collaborate, with Kindy students working alongside Year 1 and Year 2. We have also continued our wonderful K-1-2 tradition of dancing every Friday. And when you don’t feel like dancing, you can join in by providing percussion for the class using our homemade drums! In between our learning, we joyfully celebrated two special birthdays—Happy Birthday to Ted and Adalyn!
Last year Mirra, as a new kindergarten student, started the year watching the older children swinging solo across the monkey bars. She dreamt of doing that herself one day. She got some teacher assistance to reach the bars and support her as she got used to moving her hands across. After a few days she was able to do it herself, once she was lifted up. Soon after she was even able to get herself up to the bars.
This year, little Emma did the same. She asked for some help to get across the bars, and said she really wanted to do it herself. Can you believe she'd mastered that within a week? Just amazing! School is not just about learning to read, write and count. It's about setting yourself all sorts of goals and working hard to achieve them. The smiles on faces say it all when those goals are ticked off. Well done, Emma and Mirra, our little monkey bar champions.
Keeping our brains ready for learning means we need to make sure we're getting plenty of sunshine, fresh air, nutritious food and exercise. The primary class have been making the most of the beautiful weather to have their brain breaks and crunch 'n' sip outside in our lovely playground.
What a fantastic accomplishment by both girls! How exciting for them to see their artworks as part of the show but also have the excitement of discovering the extra recognition by the judges.
Congratulations, Ruby and Emma. You should both be so proud of yourselves!
Sisters Ruby and Emma recently entered some of their artwork into the Gulgong Show, with amazing results. Not only did they get to see their creations on display amongst all of the other entries, there were some special delights awaiting them when they visited.
Ruby received a first and second place recognition for her two artworks and received the Best Exhibit ribbon for her category.
