Term 1, Week 10, 2025
We have had a lot to celebrate over the past two weeks, with the odd bit of sadness thrown in.
K-1-2 made the most of their last few days with Miss Newey by getting into their learning, everything from phonics and reading to number patterns and dancing. It was such a heart-warming moment for me to walk into the K-1-2 classroom to see children busily engaged in a whole range of literacy activities, in small groups, some with a teacher, some independently. It highlighted to me just how far these little people have already come this year in their learning. What a fabulous credit to their hard work but also to the amazing staff who have been working with them daily.
Although we were tearfully sad to see Miss Newey leave us on Friday, how special it was to be a part of the thanks and celebration that was put on for her by our wonderful school community, generous parents, and caring children. Hearing those sweet little voices singing "See You Again," was certainly a highlight of the day.
We all wish Miss Newey the best of luck and look forward to seeing her back here later in the year.
Applications for the K-2 teaching position have closed and the panel will meet this week to review the applications and conduct interviews. We will notify you as soon as someone has been appointed.
In other news, don't forget to respond to the online permission notes for the Easter Picnic. A special thank you to the P&C for helping to put this event on for our school community. We know it will be a fantastic day! Transport will be by parents, however if your child needs a ride, please contact the office and we can try to organise that for you. Remember parents are welcome. We can meet you there, or come to school first and we can all leave from there.
