Now that we are familiar with the first three notes, it is time to add notes that involve the right hand on the recorder, low E, and low D, as well as higher notes C' and high D'. Notice the apostrophe that defines the pitch of the note. Low D: ( D, ) and High D: ( D' ).
Adding these notes greatly expands the number of melodies that are able to be played.
The note low E is placed on the first line from the bottom of the treble clef.
Its stem goes up.
The note low D is placed directly underneath the stave on the treble clef.
Its stem goes up.
The note high C is placed in the third space from the bottom.
Its stem goes down.
The note high D is placed on the fourth line from the bottom.
Its stem goes down.
