Student VET entertainment resource developed by The Arts Unit
Years 11 and 12 VET entertainment
Your students will:
explore elements of electricity and safety when working with lighting
identify the basic principles of a lighting system and equipment
experience stage lighting procedures, processes and documentation
discover colour mixing and basic lighting design
apply knowledge and understanding of production lighting elements
complete a lighting design and operate the lighting for a production.
The student:
demonstrates knowledge of lighting equipment and accessories used in the entertainment industry
demonstrates an understanding of techniques used to plot and operate lighting cues
interprets documentation and applies this information to set up and operate lighting equipment to meet production requirements
describes the relationship between lighting and other technical and creative aspects of live performances and events
applies the troubleshooting process to solve common faults and problems in lighting equipment and operations.
Google Form: create a Google form with activities and/or questions. Students can also upload any files they create. Email this form to your students with the Creative Class link and all your student responses will be combined in a Google sheet.
Google Classroom Assignment: create an assignment or a quiz in your Google Classroom with activities and/or questions. Students can also upload any files they create.
MS Teams: create a quiz or assignment in your class team drive where students can submit responses and upload any files they create.
Email: ask your students to email you any responses and files they create.
Flipgrid: a website that allows teachers to create 'grids' to facilitate video discussions. Each grid is a message board where teachers can pose questions called 'topics'. Students can post video responses that appear in a tiled grid display.
