Kindergarten to Year 2 dance, drama and music
Your students will:
explore movements in dance
mime different everyday actions
respond with movement to stimuli, eg. rhythm, beat, music and words
sing along to a great song
MUES1.4: Listens to and responds to music.
DRAES1.1: Uses imagination and the elements of drama in imaginative play and dramatic situations.
DAES1.1: Participates in dance activities and demonstrates an awareness of body parts, control over movement and expressive qualities.
DAES1.3: Responds to and communicates about the dances they view and/or experience
PDe-3: Communicates ways to be caring, inclusive and respectful of others
These lessons are about friendship. How to recognise a friend, how to make a friend and how to interact with friends.
They can practise interpersonal skills to interact positively with others, for example:
recognise that being kind, fair and respectful to others can support class health, safety and wellbeing
practise interpersonal skills to be an effective group member, eg. express needs, wants and feelings appropriately, active listening, self-control, sharing and helping
respond to others when participating in physical activity to achieve agreed outcomes
recognise how it feels to be included in activities
identify people that can help in different situations, eg. when injured, hurt, upset, sad or worried about a family member or a friend.
This lesson could be for a Kindergarten student from a small school or for a whole class or can be extended for other stages.
This lesson can be further explored through drama, literacy (writing) and visual arts activities and can be linked to outcomes in the PDHPE syllabus K-10 for wellbeing.
Google Form: create a Google Form with activities and/or questions, as well as, the ability for your students to upload of any files they create. Email this form to your students with the link to the Creative Class and all your student responses will be collated in a google sheet.
Google Classroom Assignment: create an assignment or a quiz in your classes Google Classroom with activities and/or questions, as well as, the ability for your students to upload any files they create.
MS Teams: create a quiz or an assignment in your class team drive where students can submit responses and upload any files they create.
Email: instruct your students to email you any responses and files they create.
Flipgrid: a website that allows teachers to create "grids" to facilitate video discussions. Each grid is like a message board where teachers can pose questions, called "topics," and their students can post video responses that appear in a tiled grid display.
Jamboard: an interactive whiteboard which can be used as a feedback board for you and your students to use.
