State Dance Festival 2018 - Friends 4Eva
Duration: 03:37Think about what you saw in the video of the students dancing.
Can you:
name some of the different games the friends were playing as part of the dance
mime these games with your friends in your class (mime is moving without any sound)
in a group, make a statue playing one of these games
think of other games you like to play with your friends that you and your classmates can mime?
experiment with different types of mime actions. You could try different levels (high/low) or tempo (fast/slow).
Put your mimes and statues together into a sequence.
Choose 4 different spots in your space. Create a way of moving around your space to get from spot to spot. Perhaps you are skipping, marching, sneaking. Be creative. At each spot, join up with some friends and create a mime action of one of your games. When you get to your last spot create a mime statue of your final game.
Have fun and get creative!
Listen to the story ‘Be a friend’ by Salina Yoon.
Pretend to be like Dennis in the story and do some mime.
Can you pretend to be:
pulling a rope
riding a bike
bouncing a ball
wiggle like a caterpillar
float like a butterfly
swaying like a tree
walking up the stairs
Can you think of some other actions from the story to mime?
Sing and mime along with Emily Arrow’s song 'Be a friend' about Dennis and being a friend.
Now it’s time for you to dance.
Stand up, shake your arms and legs out and get ready to dance along with the video of the song ‘Count on me’.
Follow and learn the movements of the teacher in the video.

Schools Spectacular 2016 - You've Got a Friend in Me.
Duration: 03:02With your class and with your teacher's help, create a friendship tree.
Each student paints their hand and places it somewhere on the friendship tree.
The tree is a symbol of the friendship within your classroom and a reminder that we should always be a good friend to all your classmates.
Display your class poster proudly in your classroom for all to see!
Fantastic work today. You are a great friend!
