Be a friend

Think about what you saw in the video of the students dancing.

Can you:

• name some of the different games the friends were playing as part of the dance

• mime these games with your friends in your class (mime is moving without any sound)

• in a group, make a statue playing one of these games

• think of other games you like to play with your friends that you and your classmates can mime?

• experiment with different types of mime actions. You could try different levels (high/low) or tempo (fast/slow).

Extension activity:

Put your mimes and statues together into a sequence.

Choose 4 different spots in your space. Create a way of moving around your space to get from spot to spot. Perhaps you are skipping, marching, sneaking. Be creative. At each spot, join up with some friends and create a mime action of one of your games. When you get to your last spot create a mime statue of your final game.
