Senior Learning Hub (SLH)
Students studying in the SLH
During your timetabled period for Distance Education or languages you are to work in the Senior Learning Hub (SLH). You must sign in so your attendance is recorded. The sign in tablet is located at the entrance to the Senior Learning Hub. If the SLH is closed, the tablet will be moved to the library.

The library is always available to senior students provided they are not disturbing others. Additionally, the Seminar Room (see photo below) has been booked for your timetabled "DISED" lesson. This is a great place for you to attend your online lessons.
In the unlikely event that the SLH and library are unavailable, you can try:
a) Outdoor Senior Space
b) Check in with the Student Wellbeing centre

For travel line classes, you are to attend where it has been arranged for you e.g. Seven Hills (VIC), Wyndham College etc.
Information on transport and timing will be communicated to you from Mr Hutton (Careers Adviser). You do not need parental permission to leave once these classes begin as you will be marked down as being on school business during those times you are travelling, or attending those classes.
However, if there is a clash with your subjects at QHHS you are expected to catch up on that missed work. Your timetable will show "TAFE" during some periods. During these periods, you are to complete catch up work for your missed subjects in the Senior Learning Hub. You are to sign in and out on the tablet (photo above).

In 2025, travel classes and buses begin in Weeks 3A and 4B. During this time, students are working in the Senior Learning Hu during those scheduled lessons.
Distance Education and Languages subjects begin Wk 1. All correspondence from your institutions will be emailed to you directly from your institution or forwarded from the HT Secondary Studies.
QHHS provides resources and support via Atomi for most subjects. Students may require assistance with accessing their subject. They can speak to their teacher contact or Mrs Ahn for this. For specific study skills, QHHS has subscribed to Elevate and the Study Skills Handbook for students to access and utilise.
Throughout the year, Sydney Distance Education HS, Finigan School of Distance Education or the Languages schools will provide any resources or logins for students enrolled in their courses.
You can see Mrs Ahn (Relieving HT Secondary Studies) in the Secondary Studies office next to Lab 1, or the Languages staffroom if you have further questions. Alternatively, Ms Honda in the Senior Learning Hub is available Monday-Friday for any questions relating to online and offline study of courses.
As always, technology assistance is available from Mr Brooks - Head Teacher Technology.
