QHHS Subject Expo Taster Day - 4th April

The day: 

We have organised a Senior Subject Expo for all Year 10 students. Subject experts have developed sessions for a wide range of Year 11 subjects being offered at QHHS in 2025. These sessions have been organised to inform students about what to expect from each subject as they move into Stage 6. Sessions will include information about:

·       course content

·       assessment expectations and the type of tasks issued

·       what type of learning students will experience in Year 11

·       why students should choose the subject

·       career links for each subject

·       other subjects that would complement or supplement learning in the subject

Students will also be led through a Year 11 style lesson, integrating a sample of content and/or skills from the Stage 6 Syllabus. The lesson will provide an experience, or taste, of what to expect in Year 11 for that subject.

All normal lessons have been cancelled for the day and it will be treated as a normal school day where all students are expected to attend. The Senior Subject Expo is for all students in Year 10 regardless of where they plan on studying next year. 

When: 

Thursday April 4th, 2024 (Week 10, Term 1).

Where: 

On-site (QHHS) - Students will receive a personal timetable of successful selections.

Why: 

The information provided by our subject experts will help all students in making SMART subject choices for 2025.

How: 

Students will receive an email with a unique code that they will use to make their selections about which courses they would like to attend for the Subject Expo. The deadline for students to complete this survey is midnight on Friday 29/3/24 (Week 9).
