DHSVAD Sport

As part of the mandated minimum weekly physical activity requirements set by the NSW department of education for students in years k-10, Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design is committed to providing a diverse and engaging selection of sports options.

Students in years 7-10 may select from the provided options detailed on this site on a term-by-term basis. This means that students will be given the opportunity to select a new sport option (or re-select an option) each term throughout the year. The only exception to this is where a student in years 7 or 8 selects a "grade sport" (the secondary equivalent to PSSA). For students selecting a grade sport, this is a two term commitment, either for summer season (Terms 1 and 4), or winter season (Terms 2 & 3).

As well as the grade sport option, students may select a paid sport (Sport carrying a fee), or school sport (Free sport option). Where fees apply, the fee charged is the minimum amount required to cover the costs involved for that sport, I.e., hall/court hire, equipment hire, venue fee, and/or bus fare. As these fees are paid to external parties, all sport fees are strictly non-refundable, and participation in paid sport activities is contingent on students not owing any outstanding fees from previous terms.
