Grade sport

Grade sports are an inter-school sports tournament hosted by the Bligh Zone sports association. This zone is a collective of secondary schools which includes Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design, Newtown Performing Arts High School, Tempe High School, Marrickville High School, Strathfield Girls High School, Balmain High School, Black Wattle Bay High School, and Leichhardt Secondary Collage.

Grade sport is divided into a Summer season (Terms 1 and 4), and a Winter season (Terms 2 and 3). Students who join the schools grade teams, make a 2 term commitment to their chosen sport. Students attending grade sports will depart the school at 12:25pm for 1:00pm start times at their designated venues.

To minimise the costs to students and parents, students will attend their sports venues via a combination of walking and/or public transport for the 2024 school year. Due to this, students will be required to carry a valid Opal card with sufficient funds each week. Students may also elect to be dismissed directly from the venue with parental permission.

Grade sports are gender divided (Boys and Girls), however exceptions may be made on request. The school will provide equipment for students, however they are welcome to bring their own if preferred, I.e., Shin guards, knee or elbow guards, etc.
