Codes of Conduct provide a supportive framework which promotes fair and appropriate behaviour. Students who are chosen to represent the school must understand they are being observed by members of the Creative and Performing Arts organising team, the public, other children and teachers and, as such, are role models and must act appropriately at all times.
All performers’ behaviour and attitude reflects upon themselves and the school. Any performer who breaks the Code of Conduct discredits themself, the group, the school and the Department of Education. As a result, the student will be withdrawn from rehearsals and planned performances as determined by the coordinating and supervising teachers in consultation with the Principal or Deputy Principal.
Please read the following:
I will follow all school rules during rehearsals and performances.
I understand that I am required to practise my repertoire between rehearsals. I understand that I may be removed from sections of choreography or repertoire in the event that I have not practised.
I will attend all rehearsals, performances, practices and sessions unless I am away from school sick. Students who miss the above are encouraged to meet with a fellow student to discuss and go through any missed material.
I understand that if I miss rehearsals leading up to a performance will not be permitted to participate in that event.
I understand that continued unjustified abscence from rehearsals will result in withdrawal from an ensemble.
If I am injured/ sick but at school I will attend all activities to observe so that I can stay informed of organisation and content.
I will be courteous, polite and demonstrate respect for all teachers and other students at all times.
I will listen to and follow all teacher instructions – before, during and after rehearsals, performances, practices and sessions.
I will stay focused and pay attention to all teacher instructions and keep talking to a minimum.
I will always try to perform to the best of my ability.
I will dress in appropriate clothing to perform or practise in. If I don't wear the correct performance clothing for an event I understand I will be unable to participate.
I will not wear jewellery to rehearsals and performances (stud earrings are permitted).
I understand that enrolment in all Creative and Performing Arts programs gives permission for all photos and recordings taken during performances to be used for publicity.
I must remain with teachers at the end of all rehearsals, performances, practices and sessions until I am safely collected by my parent or caregiver.
If I break the Code of Behaviour I understand that I will no longer be permitted to attend Creative and Performing Arts activities and any participation fee will be forfeited.
