Zoom Video Conferencing

Zoom is a video conferencing application that our school uses to hold online lessons (they're called "meetings" on Zoom). It is important that students follow our ICT Code of Conduct when partitipating in these meetings.

Zoom is a secure online application and our online lessons can only be accessed by teachers and students from our school. Please contact your child's teacher through Seesaw if you have any questions.

Guidelines for students

  • Set up an appropriate space when connecting to your meeting.

  • Choose an appropriate picture or blurred background when you join a meeting. Keep it the same for the whole meeting.

  • Sit in a well-lit and quiet place.

  • If there is a lot of background noise, use a headset/mic if you have one.

  • Make sure your microphone is muted when not talking.

  • Web meetings use more internet bandwidth than web browsing. You might need to keep your webcam off to improve quality.

  • Be yourself and respect others.

  • Chatting to each other is limited unless it is required for group work.

  • Ask your teacher questions using the group chat.

  • Read carefully what you’ve typed before sending your message in chat.

  • Use the raise your hand feature if wanting to ask a question live.
