Being inactive is defined as sedentary behaviour. Sedentary behaviour includes lying down or sitting, as well as a variety of other activities like watching television, working while seated at a desk, using a computer while seated at a desk, and other leisure activities.
When you are physically active, you are not sedentary. Biking, exercising, or going for a run are all examples of being physically active. Studies have shown the positive effects of physical activity, including the prevention of diseases, improved health, and muscle toning.
Sedentary behaviour has some negative consequences, including poor health, bad posture, laziness, and low self-esteem. Sedentary individuals are more prone to obesity, mood and performance problems as well as being overweight. Given the poor benefits, it is bad to be sedentary.
