N Award

Non Completion Warning Letter Process

 To be eligible for the award of Higher School Certificate the following requirements to determine satisfactory completion* must be met.

NESA requirements

To satisfactorily complete a course, a student must:

(a)  followed the course developed or endorsed by the Board;

(b)  applied themselves with diligence and sustained effort to the set tasks and experiences provided in the course by the school1;

(c)  achieved some or all of the course outcomes;

(d)  completed all assessment tasks;

(e)  successfully completed the ‘All My Own Work Program’

Oxley High School Requirements

(additional to NESA requirements and as determined by the Principal)

(d)  minimum of 85% attendance across all subjects

*Note: Satisfactory completion includes a serious attempt at tasks. Satisfactory completion can be judged by attendance, level of involvement in class, assignments and tasks completed, and level of achievement. Failure to meet one or more of these requirements may lead to an 'N' or 'Non-completion' determination. An 'N' determination for a course may make a student ineligible for the HSC. http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc-results/understanding.html#hsc-results-info

During the course where one or more of the above requirements are not being met an ‘N’ Warning (Warning of Non Completion in a course) letter will be issued. The process is indicated below.

Note: Syllabus outcomes at risk of non-completion are to be included in the letter.
