Welcome to Maths @ MAHS!
At Mount Austin High School, our Mathematics faculty is dedicated to fostering a love for learning and numeracy. We offer a comprehensive curriculum from Years 7 to 12, including high potential classes and enrichment programs designed to challenge and inspire students. Our teachers are committed to supporting every learner, ensuring that each student can thrive and achieve their personal best.
We also provide access to valuable resources such as Mathspace and Education Perfect, enabling students to continue their mathematical journey both in the classroom and at home. Additionally, we are proud to be part of the Mathematics Growth Team initiative, with Mr. Thomas Pollard serving as our dedicated trainer for 2025–2026.

Mr Wickham,
Mathematics Head Teacher
At our school, we offer dedicated classes in Years 7 to 10 for students demonstrating high potential in mathematics. These classes are 7-2, 8-2, 9-2, and 10-2. While these classes provide targeted extension and challenge, all mathematics teachers are committed to supporting and catering to the individual learning needs of every student across all classes.
In Years 7 and 8 we offer an enrichment program for high potential students who excel in working mathematically. This program includes small group withdrawal from the 7-2 and 8-2 classes as well as whole class tasks and investigations. Students are exposed to a variety of non-routine problems, including rich tasks, goal free problems, investigations, and extension activities linked to their current class topic.
The Mathematics Growth Team (MGT) is a team of instructional leaders (trainers) based in schools to support mathematics teaching and learning. The team is led by Eddie Woo, an internationally recognised mathematics sensation through his WooTube channel on YouTube.
Mr Thomas Pollard is the Mount Austin High School trainer for 2025-2026. He is looking forward to working with our staff and students!
