Reading every day is important to build knowledge, skills and stamina. Students at KSPS should be reading for about 20-40 minutes every day dependent on their age. The KSPS school library has lots of wonderful books that can be borrowed and read at home.

Penrith City Library

If you are a member of Penrith City Library you can read and download hundreds of free eBooks, audioBooks and eMagazines using just your library card. They have a great collection of children's stories. They also have a section of PRC titles you can browse through.

Epic!

Epic is a digital library for kids 12 and under. Books are sorted by age and they include a wide range of popular titles, general fiction, audioBooks and nonfiction. They also have a selection of PRC titles you can chose from.

Vooks is an online library of read-aloud animated storybooks. They have hundreds of books to choose from.

Storyline Online

Storyline Online is the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s. It streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books while the illustrations come to life. It is a great site to listen to and enjoy wonderful stories read aloud and brought to life.

#Operationstorytime

Instagram has created a series of posts called #operationstorytime, where authors and celebrities are reading popular children"s books. You can listen to lots of stories such as Eric Carle reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

David Walliams

David Walliams is an actor, TV presenter and popular children's author. He has written books such as Gansta Granny and The World's Worst Teachers. He is reading parts of his stories every day.

Mem Fox

Mem Fox is a very popular Australian author who has written lots of picture books. Best known for Possum Magic, she has written many other books such as Shoes From Grandpa, I'm Australian Too and Koala Lou. Mem Fox has uploaded a number of audio versions of her books on her website.
