Once you submit the form Miss Koeferl will contact you regarding your instrument selection and tutor's contact detail.
To hire a wind instrument, please pay at the office or online (ACCEPTING PAYMENTS FROM TERM 4, not Term 3), then pick up your instrument on collection day from the hall. Alternatively, you can purchase your own instrument from local music stores.
Contact your tutor as soon as possible to book your lesson time.
Learn how to take a good care of your instrument and how to play it.
Practise your instrument everyday.
After your trial period Miss Koeferl will send you another form to ask if you are willing to continue and join the Training Band in 2026. Please look out for this notification in late Term 4.
Students can choose from flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, french horn and percussion.
Instrument selection will be based on student's previous musical experience and preference.
You do not need any experience of playing an instrument to join the band.
Please note that we can only accept three percussion players due to our limited instrument availability.
We encourage students with prior keyboard experience to trial a wind instrument. We especially welcome trombone and French horn players.
Wind instruments (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and french horn) will be available for hire from the school.

Weekly instrumental tuition is compulsory for all band students.
● School group lessons are held before or after school.
● School individual lessons are held before or after school. Cost is at the discretion of the tutor.
● Lessons can also be arranged externally through a private tutor.
Lesson fees are to be arranged with your instrumental tutor. Tutors will notify you of their lesson cancellation policy. If you cannot attend a lesson you must contact the tutor directly in advance.
Your instrument tutor will guide you on how to care for your instrument.
