Reflections are crucial in Big Picture as they alow each student to articulate and express themselves while talking about what they learnt and why it made it fun. Although sometimes i hate doing it, i believe that reflections are some of the most important parts of Big Picture.
Below is all my reflections from the past 2 years, I have also put a reflection I am proud of from each year.
CAMP LAKE KEEP IT
This camp started with waking up at 6 am in the morning and then arriving at school around 6:30am, packing our stuff and getting into the bus. We were in the bus for about 3 hours before stopping at Grafton were we ate and rest for 30 minutes, after that we got back in the bus and had our last stop 3 hours later and then arrived at camp.
When arriving at camp we had an introduction by the team and set up our beds. After that we got free time for the rest of the afternoon and then had dinner, after dinner we went into our cabins watched some shows and then went to bed.
In the morning we all got changed into bad clothes as we were about to complete the mud run which is a obstacle course covered in mud, but it wasn't just normal mud it was thick, gooey, gross mud that got your feet stuck every time u stepped and lets just say we got stuck and covered in mud. After the mud run we washed off by swimming in the lake and washing off in showers. We then went for lunch and had like 30 mins before our next activity which was canoeing, overall it was fun but long a swell after that we showered had dinner and then had free time until we slept.
Its now day 3 of camp and the first activity we had was kayaking and it was pretty fun the only thing I didn't like is we took a long break in the middle. After that we showered and then had lunch, we then had a 15 minute break and then did BMX and archery which was super fun as we could do the pump track. We then had dinner and had free time until we slept.
In the morning we did raft building in the pool which was good but our didn't float so we lost but it was fun anyways, we then went for lunch and then everyone meetup to do our final activity together which was a scavenger hunt which I didn't really like but it was ok, then we had dinner and then had a fire where we cooked damper and talked, after that we packed up most of our stuff and we all headed to bed.
We woke up super early the next morning and had breakfast staright away, then we went on the bus. It was a long ride home but was fun aswell, we had the same stops as last time and then went home. Overall I really liked this camp and would definitily go again.
TROPICAL FRUIT WORLD
Tropical fruit world was a really fun excursion for me at least, it started off with us meeting at school and going to uki after exploring uki for a bit we hopped on the bus again and went to tropical fruit world. we went onto the truck bus thing were we were givin a tour of the place, we saw all the different fruit trees and plants, halfway through we got to stop and have some bannanas which tasted so good. Then got to see the animals which were mainly just kangaroos and goats but there were a few horses. We then got on a boat and went to the island with a basketball court on it which was cool so we of course played basketball. We then went to fruit tasting where we tried fruits like custard apples and jackfruits. Overall I really like this trip and think we should do more excursions in the future.
MY INTERNSHIP REFLECTIONS
26/07/23
When I drove in the parking lot I was pretty nervous to meet Brendon and the team, as I approached the counter I shook hands with Brendon and he showed me around he gym I mostly cleaned that day and did admin.
28/08/23
This time when i went in Brendon wasn't there for the first bit so I cleaned and then shadowed his personal trainer session I learned quite a bit of things like communication with a customer is key and also how to push people past their limits I also helped with the pull up bar.
STEVEN BRADBURY
24/7/23
Steven Bradbury presented it to my school today and I have a mixed opinion on it. I think it was an amazing performance and I think he was brave to go up there but the presentation and delivery of the speech was pretty bad. He talked about his struggles as a kid and how hard he worked for his gold medal which he made pretty funny but in the end i just felt as if it was an awkward speech.
TAFE
23/10/23
This Monday I had my first day at tafe where we learned all about hospitality and all the pros and cons that came with it, we also got to learn how to make various drinks and food.
When we first went to tafe we got to the classroom and put name tags on, after we were ready we got a demonstration on how to make a latte and flat white. Once the demonstration finished we washed our hands, put aprons on and started to make coffee although since i don't like coffee I gave mine to Finlay. After we were done drinking our coffees we had our first break which was around 20 minutes long. When we got back we learned how to make toasties and milkshakes with industrial grade equipment which was pretty cool to use. After I made our toasties and milkshakes we ate them and went to our final break of the day which was around 30 minutes this time. When we arrived at class we got to have a walk around the hospitality units which was super cool to see, once we got back we learned how to make mocktails which was fun and tasted amazing. After drinking them we were done for the day. Overall I really like going to tafe and hope the other days are just like this one.
30/10/23
On monday i had my second day of tafe where we learned about health and all it has to offer, when we first got there we were unsure of which building to go into so we had to find it. We then entered the first classroom that was lined with cpr dolls, so it was pretty easy to guess what we were going to learn… cpr, we started off by learning the basics like when to take breaths and what rhythm to push down in. After a while we all had it figured out and it was time for lunch. After we got back we played a race game with cpr dolls. Once we finished that it was time to learn how to bandage properly so we learned how to bandage snake bites and around sharp objects. We then had one last break before the final lesson where we learned about health check ups and cleaning the cpr dolls. Overall this was a super fun experience and I can't wait to do more like this.
6/11/23
On monday, which was the third visit to tafe we learned about fitness, for example we got taught about dieting, gi levels and heaps more. This time tafe was a little different, we went to break earlier than normal and quicker than normal so we could make it back in time for a small session before the big one, after the small session and another break we went to the on campus gym to workout and test ourselves. We did a grip test, height test, weight test, and vertical jump test. After testing me, finlay and elle did a workout where we did leg press, squats, pull ups and bench press. Overall I loved this tafe visit and it was my favorite by far.
14/11/23
Yesterday was my 2nd last visit to tafe and i don't think it lived up to my expectations as we didn't really focus on mechanics like we were meant to. When we first arrived we talked to our instructor who has had a pretty interesting life as he has done many jobs. After talking to him we got a demonstration on how to solder and join parts to make a wire. After we got back from a break we started working on the soldering which was way harder than it looked but in the end everyone was around 3⁄4 's so we had a break and went to finish it up. After we were done with the wires we played a sorting game where we got all the wrenches and put them in order. After that we left and I guess I was pretty disappointed as we didn't really do much. Hopefully next week will be better.
21/11/23
Yesterday was my last day of the tafe taster course, we had woodwork/carpentry and i think it was one of my favorites we started off with talking in the classroom and getting a demo on what we were making which was a wooden toolbox, we then went to break and then started working on our shaping, sanding and pre drilling. After finishing we went to break and then after break we completed the tool box, this tafe tester course has definitely brought me knowledge and i would choose again if i could.
WEEKLY JOURNALS
19/10/23
This week i have been preparing for my learning plan, currently i have done my interest mindmap and my learning/project mind map. I still will need to do my learning plan and cover sheet but after that i will be all good and will start to work on this terms project which is creating a sustainable and hopefully affordable clothing brand. This term I hope to start my project and find an LTI that will help me with my project. I'm not gonna say I'm very excited for this term but I'm also not annoyed or frustrated about this term as it is a bit more fulfilling than last term.
23/11/23
Today I am mainly writing this journal so I can hit 3 journals this week. I wont say that I haven't been journaling but i probably will be journaling a bit more. Today I plan to work on my project, set up my google sites, journal and finally research on how to properly make a tech pack.
23/11/23
My name is Julian Biermann I was born in Mullumbimby and lived in australia for my whole life, I love the fact that we have some of the best beaches ever, some memorable moments in my life would be going to the gym for the first time and visiting my grandparents in germany to see snow for the first time. I go to the gym for fun at the moment, i love going swimming, going to the gym and designing. I'd say something that I like getting better at is definitely being an entrepreneur, Probably how to get rich.
23/11/23
I think I wanted to join the big picture for 1 because it was new and I didn't like school at the time and for 2 i could learn through my interests and passions. This year I think what I enjoyed most was probably meeting new people and having new friends, some of the best bits were probably the tafe tester, the tree tops excursion and having people come in and talk to the class. I think my biggest challenge was definitely doing the work and not disrupting the class. I think I got past this (kinda) was to start working on what i really like doing and focus on the quality of the work.
I reckon I have grown as a person and gotten better at listening to other people's advice. I am grateful that the big picture can allow me to learn through interests and passions.
TREETOPS EXCURSION
I woke up early on Friday because I knew what the day ahead of me was going to look like; ziplines, High ropes and heaps of other fun activities. Once I got To school we got on the bus and went on a 30 minibus ride until we arrived at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. When we arrived we walked to the high ropes base and Got a demonstration on how to climb the course and Then we were off, on the first course I was a little slow But then I began to pick it up and eventually did Every thing in the course but the diamond course and the big zipline as everyone said it was bad. After we were all done with the course we went back to school but not before stopping at McDonalds for some food. Over all I really liked this excursion and think we should do heaps more like this.

River Tracks
15/02/24
Today was the first day of river tracks and it was so good, we started by learning names and bringing everything we needed down, we then started levelling the ground and setting up a retaining wall, after the wall got set up we screwed it and started loading up dirt to level it. Now we needed to measure out where the posts would be placed and then we hammered them in. Overall I enjoy river tracks and will keep doing it for sure.
22/02/24
Today was the second week I attended river tracks and it was super productive, we started by bringing down all of the tools from the truck and van, and we then started levelling the ground out more. Once completed we started to dig holes where the posts were and measured all sides again, we were off by about 20 ml so we moved it a bit closer so it would be the correct measurement, now that the holes were dug we started to fill them with concrete mix/powder and mix them while slowly adding water. After each team around completed the hole we started to cut big pieces of wood with an electric saw, once cut we cut more smaller lines so we could chisel them away, we then packed up and called it a day. Overall I'm starting to enjoy river tracks and will keep going.
29/02/24
Today was one of the days of river tracks I was really excited about as we got to do the scaffolding so as soon s we arrived we measured out the poles and concreted the stumps in, we then measured and cut the timber to create the scaffolding for the roof. After that I hopped on the ladder and drilled 2 crew in each side of the timber, then we cleared up the site and left. overall I really like today.
14/03/24
Today we started on roofing which is probably the best bit so I was really excited, when we arrived we started off with a check-in and then got told the sort of plan we would use for the roofing. we then started by laying the rafters down and nail gunning and hammering it which took really long as we had to put 6 nails in each bracket which took a while, after that we put on the braces, after clamping and screwing the braces we were done, overall this was like the best day of them all.
INTERNSHIP
27/02/24
Yesterday was my first day at the Australian Sea Bird and Turtle Rescue, When I first arrived I was nervous but then when I was introduced to the person who was gonna show us around I eased up a bit. We got notified that we would only be there till 10 so we started with a tour of the hospital where they keep all the turtles, there were 3 main tubs, a big one with a current, a medium one with deep water and no current, and finally one with shallow water and no current. We also visited the bird cage that was currently empty but there was 3 main rooms and a the third room had a pool in it. After the tour we got to hang out with the turtles and play with them. Overall it was a good experience and will want to go again.
11/03/24
On Friday I had my second day at the Australian Sea Bird and Turtle Rescue, when I got there we started by taking the turtles out of the tank and scrubbing the tanks, After they were scrubbed we let it sit for 5 minutes and then filled them back up. After the tanks were full we put the turtle back in, I then fed the freshwater turtle and took him on a walk which is basically just watching him. After that i got to watch a turtle with a broken flipper and saw the x-ray scans. I reckon today was super fun and would love to come again.
22/03/24
This Friday was probably my favourite day at the Australian Sea Bird and Turtle Rescue, when I first arrived at 8:45am I was one of the first to be there and was pleasantly surprised that there was a baby loggerhead hatchling there that was swimming in a small tub. After playing with the baby turtle for a bit i said hi to all the turtles and then started cleaning freddo's cage, but before we could clean the tub I had to take him out so Amanda could give him a Anti-Bacterial shot. after we gave him the shot we put him in a dry tub while I started hosing and scrubbing out all the leftover food and poo which took me around 30-45 minutes, once I filled the clean tub back up with water I put Freddo back in his tub. After that there was around 10 minutes left so everyone was kind of just playing with the hatchling but the Amanda came in and told us they were taking a pelican to the vet and said we could watch if we wanted, at first i thought it was a baby or a small one but as it turns out it was actually a crazy big one that sounded and looked like a dinosaur, one of the lady's there wrangled it and put it in the truck. Overall this was the best day I have had here and I would love to come again.
MMA
11/03/24
Today was the first lesson of mma I have ever done so I was pretty excited, once we arrived at Triune MMA the rest of the class was already warming up on the bag, so i greeted Bretto and started with warm up. For warm up we start with 5 minutes on the bag and then we all started running in a circle, after that we did shadow boxing for 2 minutes and then started with pad work, for pad work we worked on our jabs and vertical movement. After that we started with leg kicks and i got called out for stepping back to much so when I did it next I tried staying firm on the ground and not moving back after throwing kicks. Once we finished with kicks we started to do sparring which is probably my favourite thing as I get to use my reach and height to my advantage, the main thing I tried to do is maintain control of my opponent and trying to parry the jabs. After that we started bjj by Bretto teaching us multiple ways to pass guard when your opponents on the floor. After that we finished the session by doing 15-20 minutes off rolling, I got my friend Korrum with a rear naked choke and a forearm choke.
18/03/24
Today was my 2nd mma lesson and it was really good, when I arrived I was one of the first to get there so I talked to Bretto for a bit about buying gloves and shin guards, once everyone got here we warmed up on the bags and i was practicing some of the combos I learned from the Dustin Poirier vs Dan Hooker fight, after a while on the bags we started shadow boxing just to loosen up the muscles. After shadow boxing we got the gloves back on and practiced slipping a jab and the hooking on the way back which was really useful for me. Once we were done with that we grabbed the pads and did high knees and body kicks which were really good, we focused on instantly kicking and not just doing it hard and resting a lot. Once we were done we chucked on the mouth guards and started sparring, today I was trying to focus on defence and counter punches. Once we were done we did bjj and I think this was my favourite bjj lesson, we started off by learning this kumara armbar type thing which i got first try, then we levelled it up buy adding a roll to gain side control. After that we learned to fake the kumara and add a armpit choke to it which was really fun to use, once we learned that we did rolling for the rest of the lesson, I got one of the quickest arm bars i have ever done on my friend Korrum and also got max in a rear naked choke.
INTERNSHIP
3/05/24
Today was the day of the turtle release that Amanda invited me to, when i first arrived with my brother i met the crew and then we all waited for the car with the turtles to come, when it came the 3 kind of owners of the operation walked them out and placed them on the beach so they could take some photos, after that they walked them into the water as the swell was pretty shitty. Afterwards i talked to Amanda for a bit and then said by, overall it was a great experience and would recommend it to anyone.
14/05/24
Today was my favourite day at the Australian sea bird and turtle rescue. When i first arrived i was surprised with 2 new sea snakes that were now staying there, after looking at them for a bit i took the turtles out of there tubs and let them sit in the sun for a bit, I then headed with Amanda and some of the crew down to the Avery which is the bird habitat, when arriving I saw a pelican and the normal birds, but then I saw an albatross which is extremely rare to see as they are a migration bird so they barley every come down to land. After feeding the bird and cleaning some towels I then got a chance to look at the tropical bird they had in intensive care, it was only a baby though because when they are older they have a really long red tail. Overall this was the best day I've had here.
22/05/24
Yesterday I went to my lti and was happy to see that the sea snake was still here so I could see it again after looking at it for a bit I said hello to everyone and then we weighed the turtles and fed them, lately the turtles that are in are not eating which is not a good sign as they are already sick and underweight. After failing to feed the turtles, the other workers fed the birds while I and some other people took out the turtles and cleaned their tubs. We then started filling up buckets of hot water into the tubs as the salt that we put in dissolved quickly. Once we were done it was time to leave so I put the turtles back in and left. Overall today was not as fun as the others but still good.
28/05/24
Today when I arrived at my LTI I greeted everyone and then got told the sad news that the albatross got euthanized due to its wing, after talking for a bit we prepped the food and went down to the avery where we fed the few birds that remain as the others got released, after that i cleaned the towels and cleaned the rust of scissors and then went home.
11/06/24
This Tuesday I had my lti, when I first arrived I was told that Amanda was on holiday which i didn't mind that much, after greeting everyone i started on cleaning one of the small turtle tubs for a turtle that had barnacles, I first removed him and place him in a basket and let him sit out in the sun. I then started draining the tub and washing it, after washing it there was someone new who came in to do work experience showed him around and then me and I cleaned towels and put them in the washing machine. After that I helped prepare a fish smoothie for the pelican as i can't swallow properly, we then went down to the Avery to watch the pelican be fed. After they fed him they rubbed his neck so the food would go down which I thought was interesting. Overall I had a good time and can't wait to go again next week.
25/06/24
Today I was at my lti and I'm not gonna lie it was pretty boring today as they were preparing for visitors later that day we needed to clean up after we helped the turtles so after we cleaned the turtles and fed them I then did the dishes, then seeped and vacuumed. Overall today was pretty boring but it's not usually like this so i don't mind.
TAFE
10/05/24
Today was my first day at TAFE, for tafe I chose fitness as I want to broaden my knowledge of the subject. When we first arrived we went to our block of buildings and toured it, after we went to the gym as that's where we would be staying for the next 6 weeks when we first arrived we found rebel bags on the desk and in it, there was a drink bottle, socks, skipping rope, book and a towel, we were all pretty happy and got straight into learning the key things of fitness once we were finished we had a break. After arriving back from break we took our measurements to find out our BMI index, mine was 24.5 which is healthy for an adult, after taking our measurements we headed out for our next break. After the break, we did cardiovascular training to finish the day off. Overall it was a great experience and I would love to go again
22/05/24
Last Friday was my second day at TAFE and I was excited to get started as soon as I hopped on the bus to go there in the morning, once we arrived we went to the gym block and sat down at our seats while the teacher was getting ready, the first lesson was on testing our cardiovascular endurance so we first talked about our bodies and our resting heart rate and our maximum heart rate. Once we figured it out we did 3 tests and recorded our heart rates Afterward, we first started with the Cooper 12-minute run test where I got 2.23 km which is good. After that, we did rowing, skipping, push-ups, and pull-ups and then we had a break. After a break, we did 200 skips and finished the day off with stretches.
3/06/24
On Friday we had tafe again and it started with us arriving at tafe and heading into the gym, we talked to the instructor and asked what he had in plan for us and he said we would be doing strength training, once the other boys arrived we started with testing our 3 rep max on the bench press and the leg press before we could start we first put a bar speed/path tracker on the bench to calculate someone's maximum 1 rep pr, after this my group started with leg press where I hit 200kg (without tracking the weight of the bar thing) for 5 reps and my calculated 1RM was 248 kg. After the leg press, we swapped over to the bench where I hit 70 kg for 3 reps and 75kg for 2 reps. Once we had finished we took a break and then came back to the gym and did some fitness challenges like how many push-ups we do in a row and how many 1 leg squats we do and stuff like that. After that, we took one last break and then the cert 4 students personally trained us and gave us a workout. Overall I enjoyed today and can't wait to go again.
21/06/25
On Friday we had tafe and it was the second last one so i tried to enjoy it. we started off by talking about muscle groups and hypertrophy and stuff, after that we had a lunch break and then started by doing a body composition on our partners and then making a workout plan for each other, after making the workout plan we took a break and then hit a workout with the plans we made, while training i gave parker a shoulder and arm workout where i tried to get him to slow down on the reps and focus on the squeeze.
28/06/24
This Friday was our last day of tafe, we started off by arriving there and talking to jeff, when everyone arrived we got into the first lesson where we learned about nutrition and how many of each food group we should have a day and then comparing that to what we eat, we then took a break. after the break we did a workout of our choosing and then took a final break before having lunch which jeff surprised us with, we had some sushi and then talked for the next hour. at the end of the day we got givin our certificates where we can go into a bridging course for cert 3 fitness. overall tafe has been really good and I would love to go again.
TERM 3
12/08/24
On Friday I had my first day back at my lti at the Australian Sea Bird and Turtle Rescue, when I first arrived I greeted all the new people and then met the new animals, one of the turtles that were super sick was now in the last tub and looking fit and healthy I also me the new sick turtle called Paris who wasn't eating.
Once I got ready they asked me to try to feed Paris who is a green sea turtle that is sick but it didn't work which isn't surprising as she hadn't eaten in the past week or so I did the dishes instead, after doing the dishes I helped feed the healthy turtles and then cleaned Paris’s tub, after washing her tub I grabbed a bucket and started mixing in hot water and salt as it is winter and the turtles get cold, once the salt density was above 20 I put Paris back in and went to the Avery. In the Avery we brought mats for the birds and water, we also filled up their pond. Overall I'm happy to be back and can't wait to go again.
2/09/24
Last friday I went to the Australian seabird and turtle rescue. It was different though because when I arrived I saw around 10 people there, turns out some uni students were interning there so the day went by quickly but I still got to do a lot. When I arrived I started by cutting up some food for the turtles and feeding Nelly and the other turtle, after that I helped clean rivers tub and then did some washing. After that, I held down a turtle that needed an injection and then cleaned the Avery. That was pretty much it as there were a lot of people working.
9/9/24
Last Friday I went into my lti and saw they had a yellow-bellied sea snake in a tub in the doorway it was cool to see how fast they were in such a small tub, after saying hello to everyone I saw that we were slowly trying to introduce the turtles back into the outside tub so I cleaned on and helped fill the rest up with a mixture of salt, warm water, and cold water. Once the tank was filled up I took river out and put her in the far tank, I then fed her by dropping things to the bottom so she tried to dive and get it but she couldn't so i fed her normally, then after that, we put sailor in the middle tub and dove for everyone and bobbed up and down which was pretty funny. After that I helped feed other turtle filled up more tubs and helped rake the Avery. Overall it was a really good day and can't wait to go next week.
13/09/24
Today I went to the Australian sea bird and turtle rescue and it was really good. It started off with me greeting everyone when i got there and then we all had a meeting before we started. After starting I took Tallulah out of her tub to get ready for the vet. After that I went and cleaned out the tub and filled it up. After that we fed river and then cleaned her tank. When filling her tank back up we noticed that her float is finally gone and she is back to normal, after that we mopped and then went home for the day.
10/9/24
Last Wednesday we had a trip to Essential Energy and the Hutchinson Building site, We started off by getting on the bus and driving to Tweed, once we got to Essential Energy we got off the bus and then went and grabbed some food, after we and learned how to put on harnesses and navigate on electrical lines, after that, we sat in one of the trucks and then went into cherry pickers and went up to the top of the electrical poles, we had lunch and then went to the building site which was at rainbow bay we started by going to the top floor and then to the bottom and we learned how to build car parks by reusing plywood to set the concrete. After looking at what they do we asked some questions and then headed back to school on the bus, overall it was a great experience and I would love to go again.
On Monday we went to the Murwillumbah community center and when we first got there we all sat in a circle and said our names, after that, we played a game where if someone said something they you do or you needed to move, we played that for a bit and then split into 2 groups, after that our group did an exercise where we shopped for a homeless person to see what he needs and doesn't, It was a pretty fun activity and was good to see what homeless people eat. After that, we talked about making a handball comp and came up with ideas for venues, prizes, food, and more.
On Tuesday we went to the careers expo where we went to Lismore and walked around the grounds, there were a bunch of stalls mainly from tafe or university but there was also an army, police, firemen, and more. My favorite stall was the fitness stall tafe where you test your max vert and grip strength and stuff. When walking around we grabbed a bite to eat and walked for a bit more after that we all got on the bus and drove home, overall it was a decent experience but we were there for a bit too long.
20/08/24
Yesterday I went to Silkwood School in Robina, we first arrived at 10 and all met in the open space at the back of the school we talked to everyone and listened to the students explain their interests and what they do here like for instance one of them did a uni starter course for outdoor rec and one is doing law for families, after that, we went to Robina and went shopping for an hour, after coming back we all grouped up with year ten and went out for sport, we started by choosing a side based off yes or no questions and then did a 5-minute walk with a random group from the school we talked about our interests and what we liked. After that, we toured the school, met the teachers, and then chilled for a bit before leaving to go back to school. Overall I enjoyed this experience and would go again.

This Tuesday I had mma training and Harry decided to try it out so he came with me, it was only my second adult class and when we arrived there were around 8-10 people there, I only knew a couple of people so i introduced myself and then started with the warm-up.
We started by shadow boxing for 2 3-minute rounds then we started hitting the bags for 2 3-minute rounds and then we swapped with the other half of the class and kicked pads from 10 each side down to 1 each side, after that we planked for 3 minutes and then we were done with the warm-up.
Once we were done with the warm-up we started by doing long combos, my favorite was cross, jab, superman punch, left body kick, and back kick. After doing long combos we started sparring, I first got Harry for 2 rounds so I went easy on him and started showing him where to kick and when to check, after that, I sparred with someone who was recovering from a knee injury so I just did boxing and didn't kick, after that, I sparred max and got some clean calf kicks on him, for the final spar I sparred lachlan who was around my size and it was a good spar, I started by setting him up with calf kicks and then hit a clean jab cross and him.
After that we did BJJ where we started by doing tactical sit-ups and then transformed it into a single-leg take-down, after that, we did some throws and then rolled for the rest of the time.

Last Tuesday was my first day in the adults class for MMA, when I and ewan arrived he introduced me to Adam, Joel, and James after that we started our warmup where we shadow-boxed for 2 3-minute rounds and then hit the bags for the same amount, after that we planked for 3 minutes and then did the ten to one kicks.
After the warm-up we got into pad work where we worked on teeps and elbows, after that, we started sparring and I had Ewan first, when fighting Ewan I tried using distance and punished him with a calf kick whenever he stepped near me, once he got in range I would set up a nice combo, after that I sparred James who was decent but short so I had the advantage after I sparred adam who is way taller than me and has heaps of experience so it was pretty hard to keep up with him.
We then did bjj where we learnt a single leg to throw and how and where to grab the arm in a throw, after that we polished off some techniques and then rolled for the rest of the session.

Yesterday I had MMA and It was a really small class, it was just me and Liam and one other kid, we started by shadowboxing, then we did skipping, then we did skipping, and then bag work. After bag work we practiced on creating distance between each other, we did fakes, teeps, and fake head kick. After that, we sparred for a bit and went on to BJJ techniques. In Bjj we learnt about defending guillotines and taking side control, then we rolled and I went home, overall it was fun but I would have loved to spar more people.
Silkwood Visit
