Uniform Policy

Jindabyne Central School provides high standards of education, safety and self-esteem for all its students. The Jindabyne Central School community - students, staff and parents - see the wearing of school uniform as integral to maintaining these high standards and the positive image of the school in the wider community.

The aim of this policy is to ensure that the Jindabyne Central School uniform is worn by students as supported by the school's P&C; that the uniform is reviewed on a regular basis and that the school uniform at Jindabyne Central School reflects school community standards and is consistent with WHS, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation.

• helps promote a strong school spirit and a sense of identification with the school;

• provides greater security for students, as it enables intruders onto school grounds to be immediately identified and dealt with properly;

• enhances the reputation of the school in public and formal situations and provides students representing the school with additional confidence;

• in the long term, is economical, practical and durable, and eliminates any pressure for students to compete in terms of wearing fashionable clothing in the school context.
