Before early Australian colonisation occurring in the late 1700s, Marrickville was home to the Cadigal Wangal people of the Eora Nation who had lived in Marrickville for thousands of years. Located just a mere 7 kilometres from Sydney’s CBD in the Inner West, Marrickville’s demographics was and still is evolving. The changes in the movements of people impacted the community and especially the local school, Marrickville High School.
