The Multicultural Family Lunchbox Challenge is open to all NSW Year 6 & HS students.
Participants are invited to submit a video addressing one of two topic areas:
How to turn leftovers into sumptuous lunches
Creative ways to add fruits and vegetables to your multicultural lunch boxes

There will be a prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, judged by a panel of health and education professionals, and young people.
First prize - $500 voucher
Second prize - $300 voucher
Third prize - $200 voucher
People's Choice Award - $200 voucher
All entrants will receive a certificate acknowledging their participation.

Entry is open to NSW Year 6 and high school students (ages 11–18)
The video should be no longer than 60 seconds.
Video should show family members participating in some
way (e.g., parents, grandparents, siblings, extended family, etc)
You may use real-life footage or animation. Ensure you have permission to feature everyone in your video. A consent form will be needed for each person (see below).
Only original work will be accepted. Use appropriate and respectful language and images suitable for all audiences (e.g., avoid revealing private body parts), and ensure the video does not show anything that may cause harm (e.g. cuts from knives, burning from stoves, steam burns form microwaved foods etc).
Include everyday food preparation and cooking methods that use minimal resources and require little supervision.
If showcasing a cooking technique, consider the target age group and include any necessary safety tips.
The video file size must not exceed 1GB.
Ensure the use of correct information, as per The Australian Dietary Guidelines
The key messages:
Add a variety of vegetables and fruits to make lunchboxes tasty and healthy. Frozen and canned options are healthy and can save money.
Choose water as your main drink.
Keep lunch safe by keeping it cool. Add a cold pack or cold water bottle when packing your family’s multicultural lunchbox.
Entries can be submitted individually or as part of a pair or team. Any prize money will be distributed among team members if applicable.
Complete the entry form on the Google Site and upload your video there to submit your entry.
The entry form will include a consent statement that you must tick to indicate their agreement to participate in the competition.
Entries that do not comply with the submission guidelines may be deemed invalid and removed from the competition.

The video will be assessed based on the following criteria:
Presentation: Visual appeal and packing of the lunchbox.
Creativity and Innovation: Creative storytelling and innovative use of ingredients.
Clarity: Delivery of messages in a clear way.
Inclusion of Vegetables: Incorporate at least two servings of vegetables.
