Design Brief
The aim of this MDP is to develop a biodegradable and animal friendly first aid kit composed of many different bandages (different sizes) infused with different herbal remedies which will have skin regeneration and healing properties. The product will incorporate many different sizes of bandages and the herbal properties when ingested will not pose any harm towards the animal. Further the product will be easy to use and apply on animals and will be durable able to withstand external pressures ensuring no further infection occurring.
Motivation and Purpose
As a dedicated pet owner of two dogs, I have experienced the distress of seeing my furry companions injured , necessitating the use of bandages, first aid supplies, and medical care. My deep love and unwavering passion for helping animals, evident through our family's adoption of a koala named "Balmoral Mini" following the devastating bushfires in 2019, has further amplified my commitment to animal well-being. "Balmoral Mini" suffered severe injuries from the fires and received critical treatment and care at the Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie. Hence this project resonates with me as I am easily able to empathise with animals and care a lot about the biodiversity and taking care of the animals. As I explored this problem it sparked an innovative idea to create an affordable, biodegradable first aid kit equipped with specialised bandages designed to address the unique needs of both domestic pets and wildlife. The purpose of this band aid being biodegradable is to ensure it does not cause any harm to the environment if it has been removed from the animal and in case ingestion it will not cause negative effects to the animal. Overall the world needs cleaner, more natural innovations to combat our environmental, health and wellness challenges.
